About Trail Survivor Igatpuri Hiking

Trail Survivor Igatpuri is an advanced off-road and outdoor survival program designed for enthusiasts ready to go beyond the basics. Built as the next step after 4x4 Fundamentals, this two-day experience focuses on mastering real-world off-road challenges while developing essential survival skills.

From tackling technical terrains and learning recovery techniques to setting up camps and navigating the outdoors, the course blends machine, skill, and mindset. With hands-on training in hiking, rappelling, and campsite setup, participants are equipped to confidently handle both the trail and the wild.

This experience is further elevated with a specialised session led by a Limca Book record holder from the Indian Navy , who has conquered peaks like Mt. Everest and completed some of the world’s toughest ultra races including Badwater (USA) and Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (France) bringing unmatched expertise and real-world endurance insights to the program.

Drive Concept:

The Trail Survivor program is the essential next step for participants who have completed the 4x4 Fundamentals program, moving the focus from foundational driving to self-reliance and trail recovery.

This intensive, two-day program is designed to refresh existing skills and elevate the participant's ability to confidently and independently navigate challenging off-road environments and learn to survive in the outdoors. This advance level course offers expert-level off-road driving techniques from professional trainers. The course also gives you a hands on experience at recovery techniques.

Apart from the driving off-road and learning to tame the terrain and learn the capabilities of the machine, this course will also give you a hands-on experience and a course to learn the art of hiking and rappelling along with setting up a campsite from scratch. This course will make sure you are ready for a adventurous weekend with friends or family where you can take the lead and showcase your outdoor survival prowess.

Highlights of the DRIVE :

  • Progression from Fundamentals: It builds directly upon the skills acquired in the 4x4 Fundamentals program, ensuring a solid knowledge base before tackling more complex challenges.
  • Independent Trail Handling: The primary goal is to empower participants to handle the trail on their own , moving beyond guided driving to autonomous decision-making.
  • Hiking and Rappelling: There will be a short course and a challenge where you will get a chance to learn the art of hiking and rappelling from a Limca book record holder as your master trainer.
  • Campsite set up: You will also get a chance to learn how to set up a campsite where we will teach you how to pitch a tent and how to start a bonfire from scratch – so that when you head out to explore the wild – you are equipped to handle all the challenges that you may face and enjoy the outdoor life.
  • Self-Rescue & Recovery: The curriculum focuses heavily on knowing the basics of rescuing yourself from sticky situations . This is a critical skill for any serious off-roader.
  • Mechanical & Equipment Proficiency: Participants gain hands-on expertise in essential recovery tools and techniques, including:
    • Knowing how to operate a winch safely and effectively.
    • Understanding the basics of trail repairs to keep the vehicle moving.
  • Training Vehicle:The training is conducted using an adventure 4x4 fleet , ensuring participants learn on vehicles built for the demanding conditions of the trail.
  • Competition: a short competition to put your skill to the test and you stand a chance to win a trophy.
  • In short, the Trail Survivor transforms a confident 4x4 driver into a competent, self-sufficient trail survivor over the course of two days.
